I am Jennifer Barreto, founder of Tasaigo, Creative Space

I live in Tenerife and I am an artisan by heritage and vocation. My story is a fusion between tradition and creativity, backed by a solid academic background in design.

In my constant quest to merge tradition and creativity, I have taken my artisanal heritage further. My grandmother not only taught me to recycle fabrics, but also to appreciate the history that each fabric carries with it.

Accompanying my mother at craft fairs, I absorbed the essence of the effort and dedication that goes into creating something with your own hands. Those experiences shaped my approach to craftsmanship and my desire to infuse each creation with a personal touch.

Watching my father meticulously approach each project taught me the importance of excellence and dedication in the creative process. His influence persists in my artistic approach, reminding me that true beauty lies in attention to detail and the constant pursuit of perfection.

My academic training is not only a set of degrees, but a journey that began with my studies in Fine Arts at the University of La Laguna. Majoring in graphic design broadened my perspective, giving me the tools to express my creativity in visually impactful ways.

The next chapter took me to Madrid, where I obtained a master’s degree in accessories, footwear and bag design at the IED. There I discovered the magic of transforming concepts into tangible objects, taking fashion beyond simple clothing to turn it into a unique form of expression.

Each piece in Tasaigo tells a unique story, an echo of the past transformed by my contemporary vision. Accompanying my mother at craft fairs, I absorbed the essence of the effort and dedication that goes into creating something with your own hands. Those experiences shaped my approach to craftsmanship and my desire to infuse each creation with a personal touch.

My training was completed with the qualification of higher technician in pattern making and fashion from IES Santa Engracia in Madrid. This technical knowledge, combined with my artistic vision, becomes the backbone of every garment that leaves Tasaigo.

Work experience in a fashion company in Madrid was a fundamental stage. I immersed myself in the business world, understanding the importance of efficiency and organization to achieve goals in the fashion industry. This pragmatic vision is incorporated into the passion and creativity that drives each project at Tasaigo.

So, welcome to Tasaigo, where each creation is more than a piece of craftsmanship; It is a chapter in the story we continue to write together. Let’s explore the fusion of tradition and creativity in every corner of our Creative Space!
